Hello All!

For those of you who are avid followers of my Facebook page (facebook.com/alison.nail) and Blog here, you know that I have  been undergoing some major Diamond Making transitions. I mean to say that I have been through a lot of fire, pressure, heat and some stress (lol) and I know that the Universe is refining the Diamond within me.

I left an organization recently that I had been volunteering my time, with some paid contract work for this organization as well. I started editing inspiring stories as well coaching new and seasoned authors about their story, what to write, etc. I loved every minute of it! While I felt it was time for me to move on from this particular company, I still longed to work with authors. After stating my intention and desire to work with female authors, entertainers and athletes -  one woman tracked me down. An author changing the world and consciousness in the publishing industry!

She wouldn’t give up! I have to say I wasn’t sure at first because I was still very disappointed my venture in to the previous mentioned company didn’t pan out the way I would have liked. She kept emailing me and then when I gave her my number ~ she actually called me! After many discussions, meditation and prayer on both our parts, she asked me to be her manager.

That woman is Dawn Tevy.

I knew if she had enough tenacity to keep at me then this gal has got something.

Once I started reviewing her work and her website (www.angelsandwarriors.com), I knew it was a blessing and the right thing for me! When I went to the front page of her website, I was astonished! I had a dream of her website logo two weeks prior to Dawn contacting me. I got the chills!

Since then ~ life has been a whirlwind!

Dawn set forth her intentions and let the universe/God take it from there. Some amazing people have been introduced to her and well…

~ She is already working with 2 production companies, a director, a screenplay writer, and a composer. They have begun laying the foundation necessary to turn her novel into a movie. Dawn has also assembled a phenomenal team of artists, who will be turning “Angels & Warriors” into a graphic novel series!

I feel blessed beyond belief to be managing this one of kind Woman and Author who is revolutionizing the industry!

 There are days when I still think about “her”. Of course, I don’t know “really” if the baby inside me was a girl or not…not for sure. But in my mind, she was created, with a name, and face, and fingers, and love.  I express gratitude each day for the experience with her.

This isn’t a well-known fact about me that I have shared with others. I mean…I have a lot of fans on several social media websites, community websites, and my own personal website where I share things like what trip I am taking, who I am connecting with, etc. but I haven’t shared this one area of my life. I had a miscarriage.

I have discovered as I had challenged and gently loved myself to heal from the miscarriage (both physically and spiritually) that many women (and men) feel a silent sadness and grieving. I use the word silent because an unborn child/fetus/ blob/etc is a touchy subject for many people and quite frankly, the ones who experience miscarriages have very little support and love for the grieving they may experience.

When I looked for support, I found some comfort from a few people in my life who experienced miscarriages, and still for them, it was (and is) still hard to express: the sadness, the hopefulness, the excitement, the disappointment, the challenge of already buying clothes for mom and baby, and the physical body changes. There was a lot of self-blame, mourning and sometimes confusion. My heart expanded with greater love and compassion the more stories and families I connected with ~ I wanted to heal and knew others wanted to heal as well.

I have studied for over five years the idea of equilibrating our emotions and overcoming the emotional attachments to the events in our lives. I have been very successful in some areas such as overcoming the victimhood mentality of sexual abuse, discovering multiple ways to reduce stress and even have begun building a successful coaching practice after I lost my “career” job. But this one…equilibrating the emotional attachment to having a miscarriage…well… I was lost.

How was I to express gratitude for “losing a baby”?

I spent a lot of time praying and mindful meditating. Finding center and grounding myself in God and what the Universe delivers was colossal. The greater movement, for me, was two more gigantic actions in my own healing:

1. Creating a list…literally…of the blessings of having a baby and the blessings of not having a baby; and
2. Identifying what came in to my life – like a baby – after the miscarriage took place.

Wow! This was eye-opening! It took some time and I began to feel a freedom from the pain. Some of the beautiful features I discovered, you ask?

1. Two weeks later, to the day, a university contacted me to let me know that I had been accepted to graduate school and funding would be no problem.
2. A closer relationship with my family than I have ever known.
3. Inspiring, gorgeous women (religious and spiritual) showed up in my life who have been a great support. We are even talking about creating a specialized spiritual support group for families who have experienced miscarriages.
4. Creativity is flowing from me ~ more than I have ever experienced. You know when you have to think of ways to keep your child entertained – you have to be creative – it feels so much like that. Writing is become much more natural, an idea to expand my businesses and authentically connecting with men and women all across the globe has been expanding beyond my imagination.

If this wasn’t enough, my list grew to at least twenty more items.

While at times, I still feel sad, I loving remind myself of the gift I’ve been given now. If God chooses for me to experience biological parenting, then I know it will happen in universal, divine time. Until then…I am gratefully blessed with the life I am living –

It is quite superb!

Gratitude from 32,000 feet

I do a lot of traveling which gives me a wonderful opportunity to connect with people and  I get the privilege to indulge in to my favorite past time – people observing!

Last week, I flew to see my father who lives in Arkansas. I had a short lay-over in the Houston Airport. Of course, I had to run to the terminal because I was late, for my next flight, only to find out that my flight had been slightly delayed due to weather. Now this terminal isn’t like most international terminals. It is approximately the size of a three bedroom home with seven gates to load people on to the smaller airplanes. This particular afternoon, several hundreds of people were crammed in to this tiny terminal like salty sardines. Which by the way, it smelled like salty sardines with a slight hint of smelly running shoes; well maybe it was me because I was sweating profusely from running in my heels.

In this moment, I was feeling a sense of anxiety and quite a high level of irritation. It seemed like everywhere I turned; no one listened to anything I was saying or at the very least it felt like when I opened my mouth a different language was coming out. My conversations with the airport greeter, the customer service agent, the security representative, the gate agent, the flight attendant were incongruent and confusing. Then I had to run, in heels, to the gate! I even had a “heated discussion” (okay it was an argument) with the person I am dating that morning about effective communication.

Ironic. Or was it?

Once I got on the second leg of my flight itinerary, I had time to breathe. I must have looked completely drained because the flight attendant on this flight took pity on me. She smiled sweetly and asked, “Would you rather have a cocktail than something else?” I just grinned and groaned, “Water, please.”

I looked out the window, rising above the Houston trees and city. I began reflecting on an incident that happened just before I boarded the plan.

In the midst of the chaotic scene of the small terminal and my sweaty armpits, a beautiful human being stood as if he were the center of the wheel and each person there was the spoke of the wheel. He watched people in wonderment. His smile stretched from ear lobe to ear lobe. His hands rose to the center of his heart, clapping at the amusement before him.

I suppose I must have been staring a little too long because he turned to his right to look at me directly. It was as if a magnet pulled his small body to face me head on. He started to walk towards me but it seemed like his feet weren’t even moving – it was more like he was floating towards me. Did anyone else see this going on?

In an instant he was in front of me. He grabbed my hands and said, “Smile, child, smile. This world is too good to not smile. A woman with beautiful eyes should not look so sad. You have beautiful eyes. Smile!”

Tears flooded my “beautiful” eyes.

He laughed and laughed. Was he laughing at me?

I didn’t know whether to be hurt or laugh with him. He kept laughing. So…

I laughed with him.

At that point, I didn’t care if anyone else saw this angel in front of me or not. All of the stress melted away and I didn’t even notice the aroma of the terminal any longer.

I take my life too seriously sometimes…a lot actually. I also realized how the universe loves me so much to present opportunities for me to practice and heal the areas I need to grow in. If I don’t get it, or I pass up the opportunity to learn, the universe presents another scenario until I do: the person I’m dating, the airport greeter, the customer service agent, the security representative, the gate agent, and the flight attendant. I manifested six opportunities to practice effective, empowered communication, in one day!

When I took the moment to be open to the opportunity, I was rewarded with joy and laughter. This smiling, laughing man became an inspired teacher, for me, to remind me to be grateful for each moment. How different the day could have been for me if I had taken a moment to breathe, to be grateful and be open to having an inspired conversation with each person I met that day.

Interestingly enough, since that realization from 32,000 feet in an airplane, each connection I made with a person that day ran smoothly, open, inspired and grateful ~ and with lots of laughter.

I am thankful that God delivered a message, with love, to me. I am grateful that I received an inspired moment in time that affected the rest of the hours of my life!

5 Rules to Relationships

When was the last time you completely unplugged from everything- and I mean everything?

I like to think that I am aiming towards a healthy life work balance- sometimes I down right fail at it- and sometimes I am successful…

What I know for sure is that the art of living my life in a balanced way is a daily challenge that I am dedicated to practicing! In a recent course that I have been co- leading “The Inspiring Women Leadership Program” we spent a lot of time exploring the need for our lives to be balanced upon a strong foundation of both masculine and feminine principles.

On one of our calls we took a poll of our callers and asked them how many of them had felt over-extended, over tired and fatigued- in fact how many had experienced adrenal burnout? We were not surprised to see that 45% put their hands !

We live in a world where we are overconsuming to the point of devouring ourselves. Finding a way to balance our need to do and achieve, with our need to rest and rejuvenate is now clearer than ever. As our planet continues to be out of balance we continue to reflect her imbalance. A truly wise client of mine said to me just today- “I hurt when nature hurts-I am hurting”.

In a recent chat with my adrenals I discovered that they not only felt overworked- but frankly in need of a vacation! To be precise they said “this tyranny of doing is outweighing my being- everything is beginning to suffer”

So I listened to my body and went away- and unplugged…

I decided to go on a real vacation and do- NOTHING! Its been long time since I took a few days off to simply BE. After travelling to get to the place were NOTHING was on the agenda- It took me a few days to unplug, unwind and to rejuvenate my own being.

With each minute of being away I could feel layers of busy-ness melting off me. I began to surrender to the ocean, sand and sun having their way with me! Even as the TV and the World cup rallied for my attention i chose the road less travelled – simply sat in the middle of it and admired the view!

As I sat and allowed myself to BE- something interesting happened: I received the following guidance!!

The 13 Feminine Intelligence Tips
Sleep- and sleep and sleep- its highly under rated- the deep delicious sleep experience
Play- in the ocean, on the sand, in the wind, in your garden, in your work – play
Laugh and giggle and wiggle your toes in delight
Engage in playful, imaginative, goofy and releasing conversations
Lie very still and breathe deeply
Feel the sand between your toes and the warm water lapping at your feet under the stars – look for the moon
Dance and sing Karoke!
Throw away the alarm clock (just the word alarm is too invasive to want to wake up to!)
Eat lots of fresh fruit and drink a lot of water
Listen to the still small voice inside of your own heart
Let go
Let go
Let go

This all sounds so simple right? Its not rocket science and yet it is the deep wisdom of our innate feminine nature which is within no matter if we are male of female- Most of us know what we need- when we listen- the question is are we listening?

So now I am home and I am once again faced with this newsletter, the emails, the connections that I desire to nourish, the work I love to be and do- and I am reminded of the 13 tips for unplugging that come straight from the voice of my vacation. How am i going to practice these everyday? How am i going to practice healthy habits around how plugged in I get?

Whilst I was on vacation I had a very strong image come to me- I saw myself as part of a huge web of vibrating information – all being shared across the world. I saw how we are all plugged in and how amazing this is, how empowering. And I saw that there needed to be a way to monitor and adjust the flow of information, a screening process, a junk mail file, a spam filter if you will! So this is my invitation to myself and to you:

Tips for Unplugging and Setting up a Spam Filter!
(compiled form my own experience and many other sources!)

1. First thing in the morning- before you look at the phone, before you switch on the computer, or the radio or the tv- maintain air silence just for a few minutes- and meditate- stretch, roll around, wiggle your toes, breathe and listen…
2. Choose a time in the morning and a time in the afternoon to answer your emails- if you have to attend to them that regularly. Limt the times that you check for emails.
3. If you work on the phone limit the number of hours you are on calls- if at all possible use a hands free option- even those headsets send us cranky after a while.
4. Limit your intake of news- rather than watching CNN use the Internet to choose the news you are interested in knowing more about and then stop- put it down
5. Choose a time to turn off the computer and walk away- preferably at least two hours before you plan to sleep
6. Limit your Tv watching to less than one hour per day
7. Do not keep your cell phone, your tv, or your computer into he same room that you sleep
8. Do not sit in front of your computer for longer than 1 hour without moving or stretching
9. Put on music, and take a dance break at least twice a day – get your cardio vascular system working and shake out the tension and unplug..
10. At the end of the day – do a version of my unplugging visualization in order to unplug all unneeded and unwanted lines of communication that may still be operating.. This is best done in the bath or a shower-

So here it is the 10 tips to clearing out the electro magnetic clutter that comes from being too plugged in!

Ambitiously Pursuing Your Own Self-Direction by Jim Rohn

What is the origin of true ambition? There exists really only one place to find true ambition and that is within you—in every thought, in every movement, in every motivation. Your ambition is an expression of who you truly are, your own self-expression.

Isn’t self-expression really self-direction? How you think, how you move, how you motivate yourself. Ambition is a result of self-direction, and self-direction is one of the six key principles necessary for building ambition. Positive self-direction says, “I know who I am and I know where I want to go. I’m accumulating knowledge and experiences and feelings and philosophies that will help prepare me for opportunities that I know will show up without notice or any help on my part.” Because you know where you want to go, you have already been working on the parts of your personality that will make you better. Working on your attitude, working on your health, working on your time management skills. Putting it all down on paper. And you constantly see yourself in the place you want to be, going in the direction you want to go.

Direction determines destination. So here is a question you must ask yourself: “Are all the disciplines that I’m currently engaged in taking me where I want to go?” What an important question to ask yourself at the beginning of the month, the beginning of the week, the beginning of the day. Because here is what you don’t ever want to do: kid yourself. Kid your neighbor, kid me and kid the marketplace, but don’t kid yourself, fingers crossed hoping you will arrive at a good destination when you’re not even headed that way. You have to ask yourself often, “Am I?” Am I doing the disciplines that are taking me in the direction I want to go? Don’t neglect to ask these important questions, questions that help determine your direction, the set of your sail, your destination.

Is this the direction I want for my life?
Is this someone else’s direction?
Is this a goal I have been ingrained with since my childhood?
Is this goal my parents’, my spouse’s, my boss’s, my children’s, or is it MINE?

Ask yourself these questions and then debate them. After you have answered these questions within yourself, then take it one step further and ask, “What am I doing that is working or not working?” Debate it all. Work with your mind to figure out the best possible direction for you—your self-direction. And then ambitiously pursue your own self-direction. Let the power of your own ambition take you where you want to go, to do what you want to do, to create the life you want to live!

Over the course of six months, I’ve discovered a beautiful awakening within me and my universe.

I’ve discovered the opportunity to love, with all of my heart: the beauty that is me, the connection to another person and diving full in love with life.

I’ve discovered the strength within when one day I felt I could not take any more: drama, tears, sadness, regret, war, darkness. I opened my heart to prayer and awareness that through these seemingly disparities, I found peace, laughter, joy, honor, and light.

I’ve discovered that money – the lack thereof or the prosperity of – does not determine my wealth, my worth, or my way to happy-ness.

I’ve discovered a renewed sense of compassion – on myself, on my family, on my lover, on my friends, and even on those who continually challenge me – (really that is just an enlightened way of saying the people who piss me off! lol)

I’ve discovered the beauty in disconnecting from technology once in awhile, the essence of simplicity when I rub my toes through coveted green grass (in the desert-it’s coveted) and the joyous manifestation of opportunities, events and people when I declare to the universe, “I love and respect myself.” Period.

I’ve discovered through a little self-revealing how my eating behaviors uncovered deep seeded worthiness issues – but you can’t blame a girl for loving raw chocolate when it’s placed in front of her. ha!

I’ve discovered the therapeutic adoration, for me, when even my knees are shaking, the authenticity I experience when my voice is spoken and I ask for what I want.

Living in harmony, in my life, I’ve discovered, isn’t about finding the balance in all of the areas of my life ~ it’s about savoring each moment, vivaciously, through wonderment, laughter, and joy…and love.

What an inspiring and beautiful book ~ “Women, Food and God” by Geneen Roth

I had no idea how my eating patterns reflected my thoughts of who I thought I was and am!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I look forward to driving right now. I am listening to the CD’s for “Women Food and God” by Geneen Roth. I admit it, I am a self-help book junkie! However, taking a break from my 3 books minimum of reading – I decided to tone down my obsession of reading – and lessen the addiction to audio. Especially since I have just bought a new car, listening to these CD’s have given me a whole new enjoyment to driving in Phoenix traffic ~

Although I have not completed, as of yet, the audio ~ Some amazing and life transformational thoughts have been showing up:

1. I have weighed over 40 lbs my “normal” weight ~ I have weighed under 20 lbs of my “normal” weight.
It has nothing to do with the food – it has been an emotional control thing for me. Things such as – If I don’t eat this, and restrict myself to only that then I will be thin and happy! If I worked out with this strict routine – I will be buff and happy.

Aha! “Thin and Happy” “Buff and Happy”

How about that? ~ What a Reflection of thought and self-identity – and to think – all of this happening in a car ride! I realized, at 32nd Street and Tatum, my happiness/sadness is not tied to my weight. My happiness is ….just because. I am perfect exaclty as I am. Yes, I choose to eat more healthy and to use excersice for the enjoyment of my body ~ AND my happiness comes from loving myself and enjoying the sun, enjoying my connections, enjoying the infinite wisdom from God.

2. When I want to celebrate – I think of all the food choices available. When I want to feel sorry for my situation – there is a plethora of sweet savory items that just happens to be readily available too.
When I pick up the food and eat it – I leave my body and it’s sensations to feel the emotion behind how the food makes me feel ~ instead of the event I am participating in.

What an amazing realization!

For one week – I looked at when I wanted to eat when I wasn’t actually hungry – and discovered how much emotional eating I was/am doing. It was awesome to discover this because I sat down the food – before pushing it my mouth – and authentically asked, “What am I feeling in this moment?”

I began feeling it – and quite frankly, it was, and has been, mostly awesome and happy stuff! That isn’t to say that I didn’t have some other emotional sadness come up too – and both experiences were beautiful!

I have 2 more CD’s to listen to and so far – those have been some of the biggest inspiring moments I’ve discovered -
